Games to Play at The Playground
They especially love to play games in them. It is much more fun to play games that meant for children in an environment where there is plenty of stuff to jump off and climb onto as well as having many places to hide. There are many choices for games in an environment such as this. Here are a few games that children seem to just love playing on playgrounds.
Tag is an all-time favorite game for children and it can be played just about anywhere outside. However, tag is just more exciting when played on a playground. Competitors can run and hide in various places. They can also escape their attackers by climbing, sliding, swinging and zipping around the place. The game is started with one person being chosen to be ‘it’ and the other children running away from ‘it.’ When ‘it’ catches one of the other children and tags him, they become ‘it.’ The game continues in this fashion with no real end. Of course, school bells, busy parents and bursting lungs tend to dictate when a game of tag should end.
Hide and go seek is another favorite game for children that can be played both in and out of the playground, but is much more fun in the playground. The game is played the same as it sounds. Someone hides and someone else seeks. Any number of children can play the game and kids do tend to make up their own rules on occasion, but these are the most typical rules for this game. One child is chosen to ‘seek’ the others. A number of seconds is specified and the ‘seeker’ must count this number with their eyes closed while the other child or children find a place to hide. When the time is up, the seeker seeks the other children. The first person to be found is the new seeker. However, the seeker must find all of the hidden children before the next round begins.
There are many other games that children can play on playgrounds, some of which depend on the layout of the playground itself. However, the above two are timeless and the most versatile of all playground games. They are also quite good for children in that children often have to run to play them.
